Why it matters:
Diego wanted to make a difference in the lives of babies here in Bexar County by raising funds to purchase diapers.
He talked to businesses about making donations. He talked to his friends about making donations. He even talked to his school about making donations, all to help babies that need diapers.
He put out coin collection jars, diaper collection boxes and got his friends to help him with a lemonade stand. He even helped put on a concert!
In total, Diego helped raise $2,500 which bought
17,000 diapers!

There is a reason why Diego raised 17,000 diapers. They are important. Diapers keep babies healthy. Diapers are one of the most basic health needs and can be expensive. For individuals and families who can’t afford diapers, they are put at serious health risks. As apart of the Million Diapers for Babies Campaign, the Texas Diaper Bank and the Diaper On Challenge focuses on closing the diaper divide for families who can’t afford diapers.
